Philadelphia Bound

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Stanford quarterback Tanner McKee was drafted on Saturday by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round with the 188th overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.

McKee's selection marks the third time in five years a Stanford player has been selected by the Eagles. He is the fourth quarterback from Stanford drafted in the last 12 years, joining Andrew Luck (2012), Kevin Hogan (2016) and Davis Mills (2021).

A native of Corona, Calif. McKee passed for 5,336 yards and 28 touchdowns in 23 career games played. He completed 473 of 748 passes. His 473 completions are the 11th-most in school history, as are his 5,336 passing yards. McKee's career completion percentage of 63.2% is the fourth-best in program history.

In 2022, McKee completed 264-of-426 attempts for 2,947 yards, the ninth-most passing yards by a Cardinal in a single season. His attempts were the third most and his completions ranked fifth.

In 2021, McKee was 206-of-315 for 2,327 yards and 19 total touchdowns, the most by a freshman quarterback in program history.

McKee served a two-year LDS mission in Brazil prior to enrolling at Stanford. He twice earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honor Roll in his career at Stanford and was named Stanford's team MVP in 2021.
