REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – No. 4 Stanford excelled in its final home racing event of the year, earning top finishes in seven of its eight races against both No. 12 SMU and Iowa at the Pac-12 Challenge April 29.
After racing, the Cardinal honored the Stanford careers of Brie Perry, Katelin Gildersleeve, Jill Weldon, Annabelle Bachmann, Rachel Miller, Regan McDonnell, Lucy Black, Kela Leamy, Azja Czajkowski, and Sophie Dixon.
The Cardinal started its day racing the Hawkeyes, earning dominant victories over Iowa in the varsity eight, second varsity eight, and varsity four races. Stanford's lone defeat of the day came in the second varsity four race, falling to Iowa by an eight-second margin.
The afternoon saw Stanford take on No. 12 SMU, taking commanding wins over the Mustangs in all four races.
The Cardinal now preps to defend its conference title at the 2023 Pac-12 Championships May 14, held at Dexter Lake in Lowell, Ore.
