  • Stanford competes for its first NCAA championship since 2009 beginning Friday, when action gets underway at the 2023 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships. The 22-teaam event will be held at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, New Jersey, with Temple and Camden County Boathouse serving as hosts.

  • For the second straight year, Stanford swept the annual Pac-12 awards, with Azja Czajkowski earning her second consecutive Pac-12 Athlete of the Year honor, Célia Dupré being named the Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year and head coach Derek Byrnes selected as the Pac-12 Coach of the Year. Annabelle Bachman, Lettie Cabot, Katelin Gildersleeve and Rachel Miller earned All-Pac-12 accolades for their strong performances this season.
  • Stanford captured its second consecutive conference title two weeks ago, winning the 2023 Pac-12 Championships held on Dexter Lake. The Cardinal won the title by three-and-a-half points, a point greater than its two-and-a-half-point victory over Washington in 2022. Washington finished in second place, while California earned a bronze-medal finish. Senior Annabelle Bachmann was named Pac-12 Women's Rowing Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the conclusion of the regatta. 
  • At Pac-12 Championships, Stanford’s novice eight made a move late in the race to overtake Washington and California's boats, earning the program's first win of the day. The third varsity eight continued with a decisive victory over California, earning the team's first 3.5 points of the day and a conference title. The Cardinal's varsity four took an insurmountable lead from the start of the race and did not relent to take the title in open water over the Huskies and Golden Bears. Stanford's second varsity eight earned its fourth consecutive runner-up finish. The Cardinal sealed its second consecutive conference championship with a five-second victory in the varsity eight race. After holding steady with the Huskies through 1000 meters, Stanford made its move to take the conference title in open water. 
  • At the Pac-12 Challenge on April 29, Stanford excelled in its final home racing event of the season, earning top finishes in seven of its eight races against both No. 12 SMU and Iowa. The Cardinal started its day racing the Hawkeyes, earning dominant victories over Iowa in the varsity eight, second varsity eight, and varsity four races. The afternoon saw Stanford take on No. 12 SMU, taking commanding wins over the Mustangs in all four races. 
  • In the annual Big Row dual on April 15, No. 2 Stanford had a fantastic day on the water, topping rival No. 6 California in the 1V8, 2V8, 3V8, and V4+ at Redwood Shores.  
  • At the Big Ten Invite on April 7-8, the Cardinal finished first in all but one race throughout the two-day event in Sarasota, Fla. 
  • In its season opener at the San Diego Crew Classic on April 1-2, Stanford recorded four runner-up finishes after impressive top heats finishes on Saturday. The Cardinal's closest finish of the day was in the race for the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy, as Stanford's second varsity eight boat finished just 1.722 seconds behind Texas’ boat. In three of the four final races, Stanford finished within two seconds of the eventual winner. 
  • Stanford comes off one its best seasons in recent history, earning the program's first Pac-12 title since 2014 and its second straight runner-up finish at the 2022 NCAA Championships. The Cardinal returns six members of its varsity eight boat that also earned a second-place finish at the national championships.
