Stanford Takes Out Nebraska-Kearney

STANFORD, Calif. – Freshman Zach Hanson registered his first collegiate fall to lead Stanford in a 35-9 win over Nebraska-Kearney, Sunday, at Burnham Pavilion.

Stanford (2-0) won eight of 10 bouts against the Lopers (0-2), including six by bonus points. Hanson's fall over Kaden Hart at 165 pounds came in the second period (4:23).  

Sophomore Nico Provo, ranked No. 23 nationally, got things started for the Cardinal with an 11-2 major decision over Zach Ourada at 125 pounds. Freshman Tyler Knox followed up at 133 pounds with a dominating 16-0 technical fall in 4:48 over Drew Arnold. Knox now has two technical falls in two collegiate matches.

Fifth-year Jackson DiSario made his season debut at 141 pounds, defeating Nick James, 19-14. At 149 pounds, No. 10 Jaden Abas edged John Burger, 6-5 to push the Cardinal lead to 15-0.

Sophomore Daniel Cardenas, who is ranked No. 10 at 157 pounds, posted his second technical fall of the season, finishing off Nic Stoltenberg, 17-2, in 2:52. 

The Cardinal forfeited at 174 pounds getting the Lopers on the board. 

Redshirt freshman Jack Darrah also posted a technical fall for Stanford, defeating Dylan Vodicka, 19-4 in 7:00. No. 13 Nick Stemmet capped off the scoring for Stanford with a 14-4 major decision over Jackson Kinsella at 197 pounds.

Stanford is back in action on December 1-2 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
