Stanford Advances

LOS ANGELES - Jordyn Case tallied six goals as Stanford defeated Arizona State on Thursday afternoon 20-15. The Cardinal will face the winner of USC and Colorado on Saturday in the Pac-12 Tournament championship game.

The victory over the Sun Devils was Stanford's third game this season scoring 20 goals or more. The win moves Stanford to 12-4 on the season, the second time in Danielle Spencer's tenure on The Farm reaching at least 12 wins.

Jordyn Case led the way with six goals and seven points, a new career high in both categories. Case is the second player to record at least six goals in a game this season, joining Aliya Polisky who scored six against Davidson and Arizona State and seven against Colorado.

Polisky was second in scoring, netting five goals in the game. Rylee Bouvier and Ailish Kelly both tallied a hat trick.

Jay Browne dished three assists on the day, providing half of the team's assists. She now has 26 on the season, the ninth most ever by a Stanford player in a single season.

Stanford's defense caused problems for the Sun Devils all game long. Stanford caused 14 turnovers during the game, as Ailish Kelly, Madison McPherson, and Kate Bellissimo each caused three.

Lucy Pearson made 13 saves during the game while facing 38 shots from Arizona State. The Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year finished her day with a save percentage of .464.

Pearson and McPherson each picked up four ground balls, the most on the team. McPherson, Ava Arceri, and Dakota Uy all had three draw controls to share the joint team lead as well.

Stanford had 41 shots including 29 on goal. The Cardinal was also 4-8 on free position shots.

Stanford returns to action on Saturday afternoon against the winner of Colorado and USC in the Pac-12 Tournament Championship game.
