Women's Basketball Hosts Cardinal & White Scrimmage Saturday

STANFORD, Calif. - With the regular season set to begin two weeks, the Stanford women's basketball program will host its annual Cardinal & White Scrimmage on Saturday, Oct. 26 in Maples Pavilion. The doors to Maples will open at 9:45 a.m. and the scrimmage is slated to begin at 10 a.m. Admission is free.

Fans attending should enter through the northwest doors of Maples Pavilion. Stanford Athletics' Clear Bag Policy will be in effect. Open loge seating will be available throughout the venue. Free parking may be available in Parking Structure 7, across Campus Drive from Maples Pavilion at the Knight Management Center. Additional free parking may be found in the Manzanita Field Garage, on the west side of Campus Drive just past the roundabout at Serra Street and Jane Stanford Way.

Please note that Stanford's Reunion Homecoming football game kicks off against Wake Forest at 12:30 p.m. so parking options nearby Maples Pavilion may be limited. The Maples Pavilion Lot, Sunken Diamond Lot and other lots surrounding Stanford Stadium are reserved for football permit holders only.

In 2024-25, head coach Kate Paye will lead Stanford into its first year in the ACC with a roster that returns two starters and nine letterwinners to a squad that went 30-6 last season and finished ranked ninth in the country. A two-time WBCA Assistant Coach of the Year during 17 seasons on Tara VanDerveer’s staff, Paye was hired to lead her alma mater on April 16 following VanDerveer’s retirement.

In addition to its nine returners, the Cardinal adds five newcomers, three nationally-ranked freshmen in Shay Ijiwoye (ESPN HoopGurlz No. 53), Harper Peterson (No. 87) and Kennedy Umeh (No. 44), and a pair of transfers in Tess Heal, the 2023 West Coast Conference Newcomer of the Year at Santa Clara, and Mary Ashley Stevenson, the 2024 Big Ten Media Freshman of the Year at Purdue.

The team recently returned from a 10-day tour of Italy, which included stops in Rome, Siena, Florence and Venice, and wins over San Raffaele (118-37), PF Umbertide (112-62) and Thermal Basket (92-47).
