STANFORD, Calif. - John Kosty, The Birkhofer Family Men's Volleyball Head Coach, and his staff have announced the signings of four high school standouts who will join the men's volleyball team next fall.
Stanford's incoming class consists of Erik Ask (Västerås, Sweden), Jacob Little-Phillips (Winter Park, Fla.), Jack Loper (San Clemente, Calif.) and Luke Morrison (Irvine, Calif.).
Erik Ask • 6-8 • Outside Hitter • Västerås, Sweden • Ållebergsgymnasiet Falköping
Coach Kosty on Ask: “Erik brings an international level volleyball IQ to Stanford. His size and refined game will be a huge asset to our team, and we look forward to having his international experience in our gym. As the valedictorian of his high school, Erik also brings a balance of academics and athletics to The Farm!”
Jacob Little-Phillips • 6-2 • Setter • Winter Park, Fla. • Winter Park High School
Coach Kosty on Little-Phillips: “Jacob is a high-level setter with a great volleyball IQ. His ability to run a high-level offense will be a great asset to us on The Farm. On top of his volleyball ability, he has a knack for leadership and connecting with his teammates. We look forward to seeing Jacob continue to develop his abilities at Stanford!”
Jack Loper • 6-6 • Outside Hitter • San Clemente, Calif. • San Clemente High School
Coach Kosty on Loper: “As a multi-sport athlete growing up, Jack brings athleticism and an incredible work ethic to our team. He has continued to improve his game and brings both ball control and a live arm to Stanford. As well as being an elite athlete, Jack is truly a well-rounded student-athlete and excels in both areas of his life. We are excited to have Jack add to our culture!”
Luke Morrison • 6-4 • Opposite • Irvine, Calif. • Beckman High School
Coach Kosty on Morrison: “Luke’s coaches and teammates rave about his work ethic and competitiveness. We are excited to have Luke be a positive influence on our team. As a lefty opposite he adds a heavy jump serve and an ability to score at a high level. With his continued improvement we are optimistic of where his potential can take him!”
