NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 4 Cardinal finished the regular season with a 9-3 record this weekend, winning 7-2 at No. 7 Yale but falling 6-3 to No. 2 Trinity (CT).
Stanford opened the weekend with a 7-2 win over No. 7 Yale, with clean sweeps from Mariana Narvaez Dardon, Miriam Cheng, Amelie Haworth and Valerie Huang. The top six courts all won for the Cardinal, including Riya Navani going the distance on court one. After falling behind 10-12, 11-7, 12-14, the freshman battled back to win in the fifth 13-11.
In the Sunday bout with Trinity, the Cardinal fell 6-3. Huang, Riya Navani and Khushi Kukadia all swept their opponents.
Next up for Stanford is the CSA National Championships in Philadelphia. The four-day competition gets started on Thursday, March 6.
