Trio To Tewaaraton Watch List

Frist, Polisky and Pearson on watch list for sport's top honor

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senior Annabel Frist, junior Lucy Pearson and sophomore Aliya Polisky continue to rake in the preseason praise having been named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List which was announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on Thursday. The trio is part of a list of 50 players for the award that recognizes the sport’s top player.

Frist garners the nod after boasting one of the best single-season numbers for draw controls in program history last season, grabbing 126 in her junior year. In her sophomore campaign, Frist nabbed the program record for draw controls in a single season with 138. The senior now sits in second all time in career draw controls with 318. Frist also owns the third-best mark for most goals in a season in program history after recording 56 in her freshman campaign.

Polisky enters her sophomore campaign after an astounding first year campaign, grabbing 71 points and 53 goals. Her point and goals totals landed her on Stanford’s all-time lists for single season points and goals including fourth all-time in single season goal scoring. The rising sophomore also broke Stanford’s single-season record for shots, amassing 120 during the 2024 campaign.

Pearson makes her way onto the watch list after another successful year between the pipes in 2024, starting in all 18 games and making 139 saves. Named the 2024 Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year, Pearson enters 2025 looking to build off the success she had last season, spearheading a defense that ranked 11th in the nation in scoring defense (9.00) and 12th in save percentage (47.4%).

Stanford begins the season with a matchup against former Pac-12 foes USC at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, February 8. Opening draw is slated for 1 p.m.
