- Top-ranked Stanford women’s golf remains in the Bay Area to play in the annual Juli Inkster Invitational, hosted by San Jose State and the University of San Francisco.
- 14 teams will compete at the Meadow Club in Fairfax. The course plays as a par-72 and to 6,157 yards. The first two rounds will take place on March 3 with the final round on March 4.
- Three teams in the top five of the most recent Clippd rankings will compete in the tournament: No. 1 Stanford, No. 3 Oregon, and No. 4 USC.
- Stanford returned to the top spot in the rankings on Wednesday after then-No. Arkansas finished in third place in its most recent tournament. Stanford remains the only team in the country without a tournament or match play loss this season.
- The Cardinal have won the last two Juli Inkster Invitationals. Last year’s event was cut short after two rounds due to inclement weather. The only Stanford individual champion at the Juli Inkster Invitational was Rose Zhang in 2023.
- Stanford and San Jose State linked up at the 2025 Battle of the Bay last Tuesday. The Cardinal won the match play event 5-1, picking up four individual wins and zero losses.
- Meja Örtengren was named the ACC Co-Golfer of the Month for February, the first Stanford golfer to win an ACC monthly award. She does so on the strength of her first collegiate win, taking place at the San Diego State Classic.
- Örtengren is one of three Cardinal golfers to win this season, including Paula Martin Sampedro and Megha Ganne.
- At the San Diego State Classic, four other Cardinal finished in the top 10: Martin Sampedro (second), Kelly Xu (tied for fourth), Ganne (tied for sixth), and Nora Sundberg (tied for tenth).
- Stanford’s lineup this week is as follows: Meja Örtengren, Paula Martin Sampedo, Kelly Xu, Megha Ganne, and Nora Sundberg. Leigh Chien and Caroline Sturdza are competing as individuals.
