Card Sends Three to ITA All-American Championships

The tournament offers the first opportunities to qualify for the NCAA singles and doubles championships in November.

  • Stanford men's tennis continues its 2025-26 campaign with the ITA All-American Champisonships in Tulsa Oklahoma. The action begins on Thursday, Sept. 20 with the pre-qualifying rounds, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 28.
  • Stanford will have three players in action: Alex Chang, Nico Godsick and Hudson Rivera. Chang will compete in the main draw of the singles bracket while Godsick enters in the qualifying round, on Monday, Sept. 22. The doubles tandem of Godsick and Rivera are in the main draw, which begins Wednesday, Sept. 24.
  • The 2025 fall slate began in San Francisco at Battle in the Bay, with Godsick and Rivera reaching the semifinals in doubles and the round of 16 in singles.
  • The Cardinal finished a remarkable season in 2024-25, going 26-6 overall while winning an ACC Championship in its first season in the conference and advancing to the national semifinals of the NCAA Championships and the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
  • Godsick, ranked No. 86 in the preseason by the ITA, holds a career singles record of 24-8, including a 16-6 mark a year ago. Rivera went 9-5 in singles a year ago, and he holds a career record of 20-11.
  • The tandem of Godsick and Rivera hold an 8-3 record as a team, including a 6-2 mark in ACC play last year with three nationally-ranked wins. The duo was ranked as high as No. 31 in the country last season, and they open the fall 2025 season at No. 16.
  • The Cardinal begins the campaign with four ranked players in singles: Alex Chang (41), Kyle Kang (76), Nico Godsick (86) and Alex Razeghi (119). The program has two ranked doubles teams: Alex Chang/Kyle Kang (14) and Nico Godsick/Hudson Rivera (16)
  • Stanford returns seven players from last season's roster, including ITA All-American Samir Banerjee and four additional players that won at last nine singles matches last season.
  • The Cardinal added a trio of strong newcomers in Jagger Leach, the top-rated recruit in the country per Tennis Recruiting Network, five-star signee Mark Krupkin and California transfer Aelx Chang, who was an All-Pac-12 second team honoree for the Golden Bears in 2024.
  • The Cardinal has had success on the professional level, notably with Nishesh Basavareddy, Tristan Boyer and Arthur Fery in recent years. All three have appeared in a grand slam, with Basavareddy taking a set off of Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open on Jan. 12. Boyer has reached the second round of the US Open and the Australian Open, defeating Federico Coria, while Fery reached the second round in singles at Wimbledon in 2025, beating the world No. 20 player, and the third round in doubles at Wimbledon in 2024.
  • Stanford's current student-athletes have also seen widespread success in ITF Futures and ATP Challenger tournaments, with the program earning 12 ITF futures championships in the summer of 2025, including eight titles from returning players.
  • Paul Goldstein is in his 12th season as the Taube Family Director of Men's Tennis. Goldstein’s teams have posted a 192-79 record with a national ranking and a berth in the NCAA Championships in each of his seasons at the helm.
