STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 4 Stanford Cardinal takes a break from MPSF play this weekend, hosting No. 10 Long Beach State on Sunday. The two sides already met once this season, with the Card winning 19-16 in overtime at last month's Overnght MPSF Invitational.
Ben Forer led the way in the win over Long Beach last month, scoring six goals. West Temkin made 12 saves in the Cardinal win.
The game starts at 12:00 p.m. PT at Avery Aquatics Center, and will be streamed on Overnght.
VET IN THE CAGE » Temkin returns in the cage after a Second Team All-America and First Team All-MPSF season in 2024. The senior stopped a season-high 16 shots in the overtime loss to USC last month, and boasts 98 saves in 12 games this season.
NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP » The sophomore class has been key to the Cardinal's success in 2025, accounting for four of the top five point contributors on the team. Botond Balogh has been dominant to start the season, leading the team in points (56), goals (33) and assists (23). Fellow sophomores Ben Forer (31) and Max Zelikov (22) are right behind him for the team goal lead.

SUMMER ABROAD » Ohl and junior Alex Gheorghe each competed at the World Aquatics World Championships in Croatia this summer. Ohl represented the US, while Gheorghe competed for Romania.
