NCAA Doubles Championship Begins Wednesday

Alex Chang and Alex Razeghi open the final tournament of the fall slate on Nov. 19

  • Stanford men's tennis finishes its fall campaign with the NCAA Doubles Championships, hosted at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The doubles bracket begins on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
  • Stanford will have two players in action: Alex Chang and Alex Razeghi. Chang and Razeghi are 6-2 as a doubles pair this season, going 3-1 at both the ITA Northwest Regional Championships and the ITA West Sectional Championships. The Cardinal duo was drawn against No. 5-8 seed Psul Inchauspe/Landon Ardila of Princeton in the opening round, with match times yet to be determined.
  • The 2025 fall slate began in San Francisco at Battle in the Bay, with Godsick and Rivera reaching the semifinals in doubles and the round of 16 in singles. Then, Stanford sent three athletes to the ITA All-American Championships, where Chang reached the main draw round of 32 and tallied two ranked wins, while Godsick added a singles win and the doubles tandem of Godsick and Rivera earned a top-10 ranked doubles victory.
  • Alex Chang led the way at the ITA Regional Championships for the Cardinal, going 3-1 and reaching the quarterfinals. Alex Razeghi went 2-1 in singles, advancing to the round of 16, while Chang and Razeghi's doubles tandem went 3-1 and reached the semifinals. Luke Tusher and Mark Krupkin also picked up their first career wins in the tournament.
  • Razeghi and Chang booked their ticket to NCAAs with a 3-1 mark in doubles at ITA Sectionals, defeating pairs from Washington, Arizona and Pepperdine over the four-day tournament. Both players also tallied 1-1 marks in singles.
  • Chang leads the team with six singles wins this fall, while Razeghi is close behind with three. Nico Godsick and Mark Krupkin have two apiece. Chang and Razeghi lead the Cardinal with six doubles wins while the duo of Hudson Rivera and Godsick has three.
  • The Cardinal finished a remarkable season in 2024-25, going 26-6 overall while winning an ACC Championship in its first season in the conference and advancing to the national semifinals of the NCAA Championships and the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
  • The Cardinal begins the campaign with four ranked players in singles: Alex Chang (41), Kyle Kang (76), Nico Godsick (86) and Alex Razeghi (119). The program has two ranked doubles teams: Alex Chang/Kyle Kang (14) and Nico Godsick/Hudson Rivera (16)
  • Stanford returns seven players from last season's roster, including ITA All-American Samir Banerjee and four additional players that won at last nine singles matches last season. The Cardinal added a trio of strong newcomers in Jagger Leach, the top-rated recruit in the country per Tennis Recruiting Network, five-star signee Mark Krupkin and California transfer Alex Chang, who was an All-Pac-12 second team honoree for the Golden Bears in 2024.
  • The Cardinal has had success on the professional level, notably with Nishesh BasavareddyTristan Boyer and Arthur Fery in recent years. All three have appeared in a grand slam, with Basavareddy taking a set off of Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open on Jan. 12, 2025. Boyer has reached the second round of the US Open and the Australian Open, defeating Federico Coria, while Fery reached the second round in singles at Wimbledon in 2025, beating the world No. 20 player Alexei Popyrin, and the third round in doubles at Wimbledon in 2024.
  • Stanford's current student-athletes have also seen widespread success in ITF Futures and ATP Challenger tournaments, with the program earning 12 ITF futures championships in the summer of 2025, including eight titles from returning players.
  • Paul Goldstein is in his 12th season as the Taube Family Director of Men's Tennis. Goldstein’s teams have posted a 192-79 record with a national ranking and a berth in the NCAA Championships in each of his seasons at the helm.
