AUSTIN, Texas - No. 4 Stanford won both relay races to kick off the Texas Swimming Invitational at Lee and Joe Jamail Swimming Center on Wednesday evening.
The quartet of Levenia Sim, Lucy Thomas, Torri Huske, and Annam Olasewere kicked things off with the victory in the 200 Medley Relay, clocking a time of 1:33.29 to pace the field.
Stanford's "B" group of Alana Berlin, Addie Robillard, Gigi Johnson, and Kirsti McEnroe finished fifth in the event, while the "C" group of Ella Detter, Ella Jablonski, Lila Heffernan, and Jamie Brennan posted a 1:40.24 to finish 16th.
The Cardinal added another win in the 800 Free Relay, as Caroline Bricker, Huske, Johnson, and Kayla Wilson combined for a 6:51.07 time, completing the night one relay sweep. Lucy Bell, Natalie Mannion, Addison Sauickie, and Olasewere just missed the podium with a 7:00.47 effort.
Night one also saw the 1650 take place, where Bailey O'Regan was Stanford's best finisher with a 16.21.01 swim. Sophie Duncan posted a 16.48.14, finishing 12th in the event.
Day two of action gets underway tomorrow morning with the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, and 200 free relay on deck. Prelims begin at 8 a.m. PT, followed by finals at 4 p.m. PT.
