No. 4 Stanford posts strong showing in spring opener

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 4 Stanford blanked Saint Mary’s 4-0 on Tuesday afternoon in the season opener for both teams at the Arrillaga Tennis Center-Taube Pavilion.

Stanford (1-0, 0-0 ACC) swept all three doubles matches before collecting three convincing wins at the top of the lineup.

Fresh off an impressive 2025 season that included an ACC title in its inaugural season and an NCAA semifinal finish, the Cardinal looked dominant in the first of six consecutive home matches.

Stanford has now won 25 straight matches on The Farm since its last home loss back on April 7, 2023.

Stanford, which remained unbeaten in 14 all-time meetings against Saint Mary’s (0-1, 0-0 West Coast), quickly captured the doubles point for a 1-0 lead.

After Hudson Rivera’s 6-2, 6-2 victory on court three extended the Cardinal’s lead to 2-0, Alex Razeghi put the Cardinal on the brink of clinching with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at the No. 2 spot.

Alex Chang, making his debut after transferring from California, provided the deciding point with a 6-3, 6-1 win at the top spot.

Stanford returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 15, against San Diego State at 11 a.m.
