CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After a terrific set of performances as a tandem at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, Alex Chang and Alex Razeghi have been named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week. The weekly, award marks the third of the season for the Cardinal, as Jagger Leach has been the ACC Freshman of the Week twice.
The pair of Chang and Razeghi went 3-0 in doubles at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships with two wins over top-10 teams. Playing all week at No. 1 doubles, the pair started with a 6-1 win over No. 22 Arizona State’s top pair to help Stanford reach the quarterfinals.
Stanford won the doubles point in all three matches, including its quarterfinal against No. 2 Ohio State. Chang and Razeghi defeated the No. 7 pair of Bernard and Okonkwo from the Buckeyes, 7-6 (5), and it added a 6-3 win one day later against the No. 6 ranked pair of Jovanovic and Sanchez Martinez from No. 6 Mississippi State, 6-3.
Chang and Razeghi hold a 9-2 record this season.
Stanford returns to action with its ACC opener on Friday, Feb. 27 at North Carolina.
