STANFORD, Calif. – Jenna Flynn was named MPSF/Delfina Player of the Week for Feb. 17 after leading No. 1 Stanford to the Barbara Kalbus Invitational title over the weekend.
Stanford (6-0, 0-0 MPSF) outlasted No. 2 UCLA 8-7 in the championship, following convincing victories over No. 4 California (14-7) and No. 11 UC Irvine (15-6). The Cardinal secured its fourth tournament title in five seasons and eighth in school history.
Flynn was the most dominant player in the pool all weekend, totaling a combined 11 goals, five assists, two steals and 18 shot attempts over three games. Flynn, who leads the Cardinal with 23 goals this season, has recorded hat tricks in five of Stanford’s six games.
This is the fourth career MPSF weekly award for Flynn and first as Delfina Player of the Week.
Stanford returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 21, hosting Arizona State in its MPSF opener at Avery Aquatic Center.
