Leach Earns ACC Freshman of the Week Honors

The freshman tallied wins in singles against No. 14 UCLA and No. 22 USC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Helping to lead No. 3 Stanford men's tennis to another unbeaten week, freshman Jagger Leach has been named the ACC Freshman of the Week. The award is the second of the season for Leach.

Leach is 5-0 in singles this season, and he opened the week with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles over No. 14 UCLA's Andy Nguyen. He then earned the first three-set win of his collegiate career, coming from behind to beat No. 22 USC's Niels Hoffman, 3-6, 6-4, 6-0. Leach also went 1-1 on the week in doubles, earning a win in the second position alongside Alex Chang against USC.

Stanford is 6-0 this season, and it continues its spring slate on Friday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at No. 25 Pepperdine.
