No. 22 Stanford wraps up its four match ACC road trip

  • The four-match ACC road trip continues as No. 22 Stanford is set to face No. 45 Georgia Tech on Thursday, March 26 at 1 p.m. PT and No. 38 Clemson on Saturday, March 28 at 9 a.m. PT.
  • Stanford enters the weekend with a 12-6 overall record and 5-3 mark in the ACC, sitting in a tie for fifth along with SMU. Stanford has split three of its four ACC weeekends and swept SMU and Boston College at home.
  • The Cardinal enters the match ranked No. 22 in the country in the March 24 ITA computer rankings, dropping from a season-high No. 3 in the Jan. 28 rankings, which was the program's highest ranking since March 27, 2018. Hudson Rivera (No. 67) was ranked in the updated singles rankings on March 17, and the Cardinal has three ranked doubles pairs: Alex Chang/Alex Razeghi (6), Nico Godsick/Rivera (86) and Mark Krupkin/Rivera (90).
  • Alex Razeghi leads the team with 15 singles wins this season, including a 12-0 mark in dual play and two match clinches, while Alex Chang ranks second with 12 singles victories and a team-best four matches clinched. Jagger Leach has 10 wins while Nico Godsick has eight and Hudson Rivera has seven. The tandem of Chang and Razeghi paces the Cardinal with 14 doubles wins while the duos of Mark Krupkin and Jagger Leach and Hudson Rivera and Nico Godsick have posted four apiece. Chang and Razeghi also reached the round of 16 at the NCAA Doubles Championship in November.
  • Stanford holds a 7-0 all-time mark against Clemson, last meeting on the courts in 2000, and 6-1 against Georgia Tech, facing off most recently in 2023. This marks the first ACC meetings for both programs.
  • After a strong performance at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, Alex Chang and Alex Razeghi were crowned the ACC Doubles Team of the Week on Feb. 19. The duo went 3-0 in doubles at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships with two wins over top-10 teams. Additionally, they were named to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships All-Tournament Team at No. 1 Doubles. 
  • Jagger Leach was named ACC Rookie of the Week on Feb. 3 for the second time this season for his performance in the two matches. 
  • Entering ITAs, Stanford swept a pair of ranked opponents in No. 14 UCLA (4-2) and No. 22 USC (4-1) but fell on the road to No. 24 Pepperdine, 4-0. The prior week, Stanford hosted ITA Kickoff Weekend from Jan. 23-24, defeating Utah (4-1) and Rice (4-0) to advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. Stanford added a 4-3 win over a top-25 Arizona State squad at ITAs.
  • The Cardinal finished a remarkable season in 2024-25, going 26-6 overall while winning an ACC Championship in its first season in the conference and advancing to the national semifinals of the NCAA Championships and the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
  • Stanford returns seven players from last season's roster, including ITA All-American Samir Banerjee and four additional players that won at last nine singles matches last season. The Cardinal added a trio of strong newcomers in Jagger Leach, the top-rated recruit in the country per Tennis Recruiting Network, five-star signee Mark Krupkin and California transfer Alex Chang, who was an All-Pac-12 second team honoree for the Golden Bears in 2024.
  • The Cardinal has had success on the professional level, notably with Nishesh Basavareddy, Tristan Boyer and Arthur Fery in recent years. All three have earned grand slam wins, including second round Australian Open appearances in 2026 from Basavareddy and Fery. Boyer has reached the second round of the US Open and the Australian Open, while Fery also reached the second round in singles at Wimbledon in 2025, beating the world No. 20 player Alexei Popyrin, and the third round in doubles at Wimbledon in 2024.
  • Stanford's current student-athletes have also seen widespread success in ITF Futures and ATP Challenger tournaments, with the program earning 12 ITF futures championships in the summer of 2025, including eight titles from returning players.
  • Paul Goldstein is in his 12th season as the Taube Family Director of Men's Tennis. Goldstein’s teams have posted a 204-85 record with a national ranking and a berth in the NCAA Championships in each of his seasons at the helm.
