BERKELEY, Calif. – No. 2 Stanford cruised to a 16-3 rout of No. 19 San Jose State on Friday morning in the opening round of the MPSF Championship.
Stanford (12-1, 5-1 MPSF) controlled tempo from start to finish, scoring the game’s first seven goals while limiting San Jose State (7-16, 0-6 MPSF) to three scores on 21 attempts.
The Cardinal received goals from 11 different players, representing the fifth time this season at least 10 players found the net. Sienna Green led the way with a hat trick while Juliette Dhalluin, Quinn Healy and Sydney Lowell contributed multi-goal performances.
Stanford’s offense was balanced and relentless, scoring at least 15 goals for the eighth time in 13 games. The Cardinal totaled at least three goals in every period, leading 6-0 after the first period and 10-1 at halftime.
Green’s second goal put the Cardinal into double digits at 10-1, scoring seven seconds before intermission.
Lowell closed out the scoring with back-to-back goals less than four minutes apart to wrap up the fourth period.
Christine Carpenter played the first quarter and made one save before giving way to Jackie King, who finished the game while making nine stops.
Stanford is seeking its ninth MPSF title and fourth in the past five seasons after repeating in 2022-23 and winning again in 2025. The Cardinal also won the MPSF championship in 2014, 2006, 2003, 2001 and 2000. There have been four seasons in which the Cardinal has won both the MPSF and NCAA titles (2014, 2022, 2023, 2025).
Stanford next faces No. 3 UCLA on Saturday in the semifinals at 2:30 p.m.
