Card Falls to Cavs

No. 9 Virginia sweeps Stanford 4-0

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 9 Virginia swept No. 36 Stanford at the Arrillaga Tennis Center on Sunday evening, 4-0.

The result wrapped up the 2026 home slate for the Cardinal. Seniors Caroline Driscoll and Emma Sun were honored in a pre-match ceremony on court one. Stanford is 10-8 overall and 6-4 in the ACC with two regular season matches remaining at No. 23 California and No. 25 SMU.

The Cavaliers’ ranked doubles pairs picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 to secure the early point for Virgina.

Virginia clinched on court five from Melodie Collard over Sein Myoung 6-2, 6-3. The Cavaliers also won on courts three and six.

Stanford was leading unfinished matches on courts two and four and Monika Ekstrand was close to forcing a third set on the top court, all against ranked opponents. Tianmei Wang led No. 106 Isabelle Lacy 6-1, 5-3 on four and Alyssa Ahn was up on No. 20 Annabelle Xu on two 6-3, 4-2.
