FORT WORTH, Texas – Ending its season in the NCAA Super Regionals, No. 18 Stanford men’s tennis fell to No. 2 TCU, 4-0, at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The Cardinal closes its year with a 19-9 overall record.
Competing in the Super Regional round for the fifth consecutive season, and for its third consecutive postseason match in the state of Texas, TCU claimed the doubles point with victories on the top two courts.
The Horned Frogs carried the momentum into singles play with first set wins on all six courts. Samir Banerjee and Nico Godsick held first set leads, but TCU battled back to claim the opening frames.
Stanford falls to 4-11 all-time against TCU, with the Horned Frogs earning singles victories on courts two, four and five.
The Cardinal reached the NCAA Tournament for the 18th consecutive season and 46th time in program history. Stanford holds a 123-30 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament, including 17 NCAA Championships.
