STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford junior righthanded pitcher Justin Wayne was named thePac-10Co-Pitcher of the Year, the conference announced on Monday, marking thefifth time a Cardinal pitcher has won the prestigious honor. Wayne hasrecorded a 12-3 record with a 3.02 ERA in a team-high 16 starts thisseason.He co-leads the Pac-10 in victories along with fellow Co-Pac-10 Pitcherofthe Year Rick Currier (USC). Wayne also has 128 strikeouts in 113.1innings.He currently holds the third best career winning percentage in Stanfordhistory with a 28-4 record (.875) and recently moved into second placeonStanford's all-time strikeout list with 338, moving past former majorleaguepitcher Jack McDowell.

"Justin deserves whatever recognition he gets this season," saidStanford head coach Mark Marquess. "He has had a terrific year, and wearehopeful it will continue into the post-season."

Stanford had three additional players earn all-Pac-10 honors.

Senior third baseman John Gall (Portola Valley, CA/St. Francis HS)wasselected for the third consecutive season. Gall is Stanford's all-timeleader in hits (354), RBI (253) and doubles (78), as well as theschool'sco-all-time leader in at bats (983). He also holds the Pac-10 careerrecordin both hits and doubles. He currently ranks second on Stanford'sall-timebatting average list (.360, 354-983) and is also among Cardinal all-timeleaders in home runs (45, 4th) and games played (239, 6th). This season,heis hitting .360 with 10 home runs and 61 RBI. He has hit safely in 26 ofhislast 29 regular season games and had a career-high 20-game hittingstreakfrom 3/28-5/1.

Junior outfielder Joe Borchard (Camarillo, CA/Camarillo HS) has beenchosen for the second straight year after leading or co-leading theCardinalin homers (12), RBI (35), runs scored (32), walks (20), total bases (78)andslugging percentage (.830) in Pac-10 games only this season. He issecond onthe club overall with 16 homers and 65 RBI, both career highs, andfinishedthe regular season by going 7-for-13 (.538) with two homers and nine RBIinthe UCLA series, including a key grandslam home run in the sixth inningofSunday's regular season finale.

Senior outfielder Edmund Muth (Long Beach, CA/St. John Bosco HS)returned to the all-Pac-10 team after a two-year absence. Muth leads theCardinal in home runs (17) and RBI (67) this season, both career highs.Inaddition, he has played a flawless outfield during the 2000 campaignwithoutmaking an error. Muth has managed some of the best career numbers inStanford Baseball history, as he ranks among Cardinal all-time leadersinsix categories. He is tied for second on the school's all-time home runlistwith 46, while adding other career totals of 59 doubles (fourth), 209runsscored (tied for fifth), 194 RBI (sixth), 263 hits (ninth) and 14triples(10th).

Stanford had six other players -- Damien Alvarado (Sr., C, Sacramento, CA/Jesuit HS), Jeff Bruksch (Sr., RHP, Los Angeles, CA/Beverly Hills HS), Mike Gosling (So., LHP, Salt Lake City/East HS), Chris O'Riordan (So., INF, San Diego, CA/Bishop's HS), Craig Thompson (Sr., INF, Dallas, TX/Lake Highlands HS) and Jason Young (Jr., RHP, Berkeley, CA/Berkeley HS) -- earn honorable mention all-Pac-10 honors.
