Walla Walla, Wash. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 300 in the first round of the 2002 Pac-10 Championships and currently sit in fourth place overall. Arizona has the early lead, shooting a 293 today, followed by USC with a 297. Rounding out the top five are California (299), Stanford (300) and UCLA (301).
Junior Kim Rowton is tied for fifth individually after shooting a one-over par 73 today. Freshman Wendra Liang checks in tied for 10th at three-over par 75. Senior Jessica Belskis and sophomore Kim Kouwabunpat are tied for 16th (76) while sophomore Angela Rho is tied for 36th (80). Senior Salimah Mussani, competing as an individual, is tied for 45th (82).
UCLA's Yvonne Choe and USC's Mikaela Parmlid are tied for first on the individual leaderboard as both shot a one-under par 71 on the day. ASU's Jimin Kang and Arizona's Lorena Ochoa are tied for third with an even-par 72.
Second round action will continue tomorrow with rounds beginning at 9 a.m. at the Walla Walla Country Club in Walla Walla, Washington. Pairings will be reordered for each round on Tuesday and Wednesday based on team scores.
