Women's Golf Tied for 7th Place After First Day of NCAA Championships

W. Lafayette, IN - The Cardinal women's golf team finds itself in a tie for seventh place after shooting 316 in the first round of the NCAA Championships. The four-day tournament, held at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex - Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Indiana, continues through Friday.

Senior Kim Rowton (San Antonio, Tex.) shot a first-round 74 to lead the Cardinal and place third in a four-way tie, two shots off the lead.

Stanford's other scores include junior Angelo Rho (Fullerton, Calif.), tied for 36th place after shooting 79, freshman Kelly Husted (Sarasota, Fla.), in a tie for 64th place at 81, junior Kim Kouwabunpat (Upland, Calif.) in a tie for 75th place at 82 and sophomore Wendra Liang (San Francisco, Calif.) in a tie for 92nd place after shooting 84.
