Cardinal Women Host Peg Barnard Invitational

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team will host the Peg Barnard Invitational this weekend, April 10-11, at the Stanford Golf Course. Fourteen teams will play 18 holes each day on the par 72 (6,168 yards) course. Saturday's action wil begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. while Sunday's final round will kick off at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Participating teams include host-Stanford, Montana State, Nevada, Denver, Washington, UC Irvine, Long Beach State, San Francisco, Oregon State, San Jose State, Washington State, Portland State, Oregon and the Scottish Institute.

Last year, the University of Denver shot a two-round total of 621 to take top team honors at the Peg Barnard. The Cardinal placed second just one shot back at 622. Individually, Stanford's Wendra Liang was tabbed the overall medalist, firing a 148. Washington's Sung Ea Lee was second, just two strokes back at 150.

Stanford has posted three consecutive top 10 finishes and notched their best finish of the season (5th) at the San Jose State Spartan Invitational in March. Freshman Lauren Todd leads the team with three top 25 finishes this season.
