Singles Quotes

No. 9-16 Story Tweedie-Yates, TCU
"I played pretty well. I stepped up in the court a little more to try and control the points and make them go the way I wanted.
"I played doubles with (Theresa Logar, Stanford) last year so I know her pretty well. We played doubles this summer, roomed together, and hit with each other a lot."

Doubles Quotes

Amber Liu and Anne Yelsey, Stanford
Amber Liu
"We played pretty well. It has been a long day for Anne so we just wanted to get off the court. We let the second set go on longer than we should have, but we ended it well.
"We were pretty much on in the first set, but they really picked it up in the second. Their serves got a lot better. They were not too sharp in the first but they brought it to another level in the second.
"It's a great feeling to have two teams in the quarterfinals. It's the first year since I've been here that we had really good doubles up and down the lineup all year long. It gives us a lot of confidence about our team. Makes us feel good about next year also."

No. 5-8 Whitney Benik-Lolita Frangulyan, Florida
Whitney Benik
"We're a little tired after the team competition and a long year, but Stanford also played well. We didn't feel any pressure being a seeded team."
Lolita Frangulyan
"I think we're a little beat up from the team event, but even with that we had our chances to win. In the second set we had a set point. If we had put that away it might have changed the match in our favor.""It's been a lot of fun out there. We don't really feel too much pressure because we didn't play together all year. We were just excited to be out on the courts playing together."

No. 1 Shadisha Robinson and Caroline Basu, Georgia
Caroline Basu
"We needed to play consistent today throughout the match but we didn't. We played better in the second set and started to come back, but Stanford played better in the third set. We had our chances but weren't able to get it going in the third set."
Shadisha Robinson
"We didn't start out playing well but in the second set both of us started playing good together. We made a lot of shots and got off to a good start in the third set. Stanford made a comeback and that was basically the match. We thought we could go farther and hopefully we will next year."

Alice Barnes and Erin Burdette, Stanford
Alice Barnes
"Throughout the whole match everyone was serving really well so that put a lot of pressure on us. We knew that if we could get that one break it would be the difference and that was the difference in this match. We were down 2-1 in the third set and down love-40 on our serve and we came back to win that game. If we would have lost that game this match might have been a different story."
