STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford men's water polo landed nine student-athletes on the All-Academic List of the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). The Cardinal honorees were recognized for their exceptional performances in the classroom.
Six of the Stanford representatives were honored with "Superior" status, reserved for student-athletes who boasted a GPA between 3.41 and 3.70. Those Cardinal student-athletes honored are: Alex Avery, Travis Noll, Jimmie Sandman, Jacob Smith, Will Smith and Cody Wiesen.
The remaining three representatives were honored with "Excellent" status, reserved for those with GPAs ranging from 3.20 to 3.40. Cardinal student-athletes Andrew LaForge, Jeffrey Schwimer and Peter Sefton all earned this recognition.
The nine student-athletes were part of a Stanford team that finished the 2009 season with an overall record of 21-4 and a 7-1 mark in MPSF play.
