Hey Mark, do you have any pre-game rituals? Thanks for all the memories!or, You're a great influence and role model to so many people; how doesthat make you feel?

Mark Madsen: As far as being a role model, thank you for the compliment. I think thatI'm actually really privileged to be in an area like Stanford, like PaloAlto, where we have such great fan support, and where people are interestedand involved in the basketball program. I think there are a lot of greatrole models on the team. But I guess my real comment here is I think thereal role models are the people out there in the community, the teachers. The people out there day-in and day-out, in the trenches so to speak, doingthe real good work, and the people who aren't often in the limelight.

My biggest pregame ritual is I like to lay down in the locker room beforethe game, close my eyes and just visualize. I like to visualize the teamwinning. I like to visualize good moves. I like to visualize running thecourt, jumping for rebounds, getting rebounds with two hands.

Jessica Brando (Corinth, NY)
My question is...who would you say is the most physical/aggressive playerin the entire NCAA that you have had to guard? Thank You!

Mark Madsen: Etan Thomas, without a question. Etan Thomas wins that accolade hands-down.Etan is a guy who's about 6-10, 260, bench presses close to 400 pounds, andmay be the quickest player off his feet in America. (Madsen played againstthe Syracuse senior at USA Trials.)

Jessica Killen (Ukiah, CA)
Hi Mark I just want to say that I really have liked watching you play forthe last four years. I just wanted to say congrats on graduating fromStanford. I was really lucky to see you on Saturday's game. It was too badthat you guys lost, but I thought you played an awesome game. So, what areyou going to do once you graduate?

Mark Madsen: That's a good question. I'm hoping to play in the NBA. I will do everythingpossible to make a team, to be drafted. If that doesn't pan out, I'm in ajob hunt.

Michael Hopwood (Los Altos, CA)
A simple question; I have seen various heights listed for you, how tall areyou really and how do you see yourself fitting into the NBA next year? Goodluck in AZ this week!

Mark Madsen: How tall am I really? How can you ask me that? I'm 6-9, buddy! (laughing).I'm 6-9, 240! As far as position, hopefully at the three or the four.

Peter Tovar (Los Angeles, CA)
Mark! Great job in keeping your team together [because, make no doubt; thisteam is Madsen's team!. Tell me about your experience living at CasaZapata; why did you choose to live there? What did you bring away fromthat experience? Good luck in post-season play! (Casa Zapata is anon-campus dormitory at Stanford. It is the Chicano/Latino theme house.)

Mark Madsen: Peter, I've loved living in Casa Zapata. It was one of the highlights ofcoming here to Stanford. I was there for three years. Looking at CasaZapata, and looking at the friends and relationships that I have from CasaZapata, they're some of the best friends and relationships that I have inmy life. It also opened me up to an entirely new and rich culture withwhich I wasn't fully acquainted with before, but now I feel much betteracquainted with, and I feel very happy to be a small part of that.
