Michael - What is it like to play with the great Mad Dog? Has he helped youwith basketball skills and will you be sad to see him go this year? Peoplesay that you have taken the place of Art Lee; how does that make you feel?
Michael McDonald: I'm going to miss Mad Dog extremely. He's helped me throught the program. My first three years here, he's been great on the court, off the court. Weactually have the same birthday too; we've been trying to celebrate thattogether for the past couple years, so I'm going to miss that. Art was agreat player. I'm just happy to be mentioned in the same breath as him, andhopefully we can make it to the Final Four like he led his team to theFinal Four.
Shannon Meier (Mountian View, CA)
Michael, what NBA team would you love to play for?
Michael McDonald: Right now, probably the Sacramento Kings, just because they're reallyexciting to watch play. Besides that, anyone that will pay me that type ofmoney.
M. Christon '90 (Los Angeles, CA)
What is your most cherished Stanford memory outside of hoops and athletics?
Michael McDonald: I think just the people I meet on a day-to-day basis here. I've met somegreat people who I'll know for the rest of my life, and I think that'sreally close to my heart.
Tom Wong (Los Angeles, CA)
Mike, I was at the win at Pauley. Congratulations. What were you and (Earl)Watson chatting about and doing just before you were tagged with the T?
Michael McDonald: We were talking about going out to lunch next week, maybe when he comes uphere. He's going to come up and visit sometime, and I think we're going tohang out a lot. We became pretty close friends throughout that game(laughing). No, he doesn't like me too much so I don't know if we'll betalking to each other.
Mike Lin (Torrance, CA)
How's the competition in practice between you and Julius Barnes?
Michael McDonald: It's great. He's going to be a real good point guard, I think, in thefuture. He's going to lead the Stanford team, you know, some day. I justcan't wait to see him play. Him, and Justin Davis and Casey (Jacobsen) willbe three to be reckoned with in the future, I think.
Larry Jansen (Goleta, CA)
Did you always want to go to Stanford? Were you a fan growing up? What hasthe experience been like?
Michael McDonald: I used to want to go to Florida State because I was a big Deion Sandersfan, but they never recruited me so I kind of gave up hope on that early inmy career. But it's been great here and I'm really glad that I made thisdecision. I think I would have been kind of sick -- it's a little too farfrom my house in Long Beach to Florida.
