"We wanted to establish ourselves inside, and we were going tokeep the floor spread and let him (MacCulloch) work," saidWashington coach Bob Bender. "Our guys passed him the ball ingood position and he went and finished."

"Todd needed a game that he could go out and make a statement, also just confidence-wise, against a guy like Tim Young, becausehe's played against him for so long," added Bender.

Jan Wooten extended the run to 11-0 with a three-pointer beforeclosing it with a free throw to give the Huskies a 43-31 edgewith 15:21 to play. Stanford responded with a 9-3 burst, drawing within 46-40 on Mark Seaton's free throw with 12:03remaining.

"For the third straight game, Jamie's done an unbelievable jobdefensively on the key on the (defensive) end and that wascertainly big tonight," said Bender.

Stanford shot just 31 percent (11-of-36) in the second half and36 percent (25-of-69) overall. The Cardinal were outrebounded49-33 and made just 3-of-19 three-point shots.

"He was obviously struggling on offense, and having a tough timeon MacCulloch," said Stanford coach Mike Montgomery. "To behonest with you, I felt at that point that we needed to come outand try something else."
