Ryan Webb begins his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Stanford men's soccer program. Webb, who will be primarily responsible for on-field coaching and tactical consultation, brings nearly a decade of coaching experience at the high school, club, and collegiate levels to the Stanford staff. Prior to coming to The Farm, Webb served as the Director of Coaching for the Clinton Futbol Club in his native Mississippi.
"We look forward to Ryan joining our staff," said Stanford head coach Bret Simon. "He brings a tremendous amount of coaching experience and soccer knowledge to this position."
In his most recent collegiate position, Webb served as an assistant coach at Mississippi College in 2000 and 2002, helping the Choctaws become a force in the American Southwest Conference. He began his coaching career as the head coach at Tupelo High School (1996-97), and spent four years as a member of Mississippi's Olympic Development Program (1997-2000). He also spent two seasons as the head coach of the AFC Lightning youth soccer club in Atlanta (2001-2002), and assisted the coaching staff at the Clemson University summer soccer camp.
As a high school coach, Webb's teams compiled a 79-13-1 record and made a pair of appearances in the state tournament finals. He holds a "B" License from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and a National Diploma certification from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
