As a Freshman in 2009: Pitched in 11 games during his freshman season, including four starts in midweek contests ... went 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA over 12 innings ... tossed a scoreless, hitless inning in his collegiate debut February 25 versus Saint Mary's, erasing a leadoff walk by inducing a double play ball ... did not allow a run over his first seven appearances (one start), giving up just four hits over 7.0 innings ... earned his first career win in his initial collegiate start, retiring all six batters faced in a 16-3 victory April 15 at Santa Clara.
