CJ Baker begins his third season with Stanford baseball in 2024.
Baker came to The Farm after spending two seasons on staff at Biola University. There, Baker served as the Eagles' hitting coach and assisted in recruiting, helping guide Biola to a combined 26-21 record over his two seasons - including a 12-2 start in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic halted the campaign.
Prior to his time at Biola, Baker worked as an assistant coach at Bucknell University for two and a half years, serving as the Bisons' third base coach and working directly with the hitters
Serving as head coach of the Hornell Dodgers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League, Baker led the Dodgers to the NYCBL championship in 2017 while earning Manager of the Year recognition. Under Baker's guidance, the Dodgers ranked as high as No. 11 in the country for collegiate summer ball teams. The squad hit 42 home runs, while recording a league-record 200 stolen bases.
Baker's coaching resume also includes a stint as an assistant coach at NCAA D-II Lock Haven University, where he saw the Bald Eagles set a program record with 32 wins, win their first playoff game since 1988 and top out at a No. 3 ranking in their regional poll.
Prior to arriving at Lock Haven, Baker was a graduate assistant at Seattle University, assisting in the everyday baseball operations while running individual infield and outfield drills. Baker also managed and operated the team's social media platforms.
Baker graduated from Simpson University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in communications/psychology. He earned a master's degree in education from the University of Washington in 2016.
