Gunnar is entering his second year in the Stanford Olympic Sports Performance Department. His responsibilities include designing and implementing a year-round program for the Baseball and Men’s Water Polo programs and functioning as an Applied Sports Scientist.

Originally from Portland, Oregon Gunnar graduated from Linfield College where he played football and baseball for the Wildcats and was a three-year letter-winner in both sports. After graduation undergrad, Gunnar went on to attend Central Washington University, where he earned his master’s degree. After completion of his master’s degree, He worked as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at three Portland Metro Area High Schools while coaching multiple sports (football, basketball, baseball and track and field) during that time. In 2016, he and his wife Katie moved to Birmingham due to her acceptance to Graduate School at UAB where obtained her Doctoral in Rehabilitation Sciences. During the 2016-2017 school year, Cederberg worked as an assistant with the Athletic Performance team at UAB assisting with multiple sports that included baseball, football and bowling.  During his time there he was elevated to Assistant Director of Athletic Performance and was in charge of Baseball, Indoor Volleyball, and bowling. He assisted with the football team as well as serving as the Facilities Coordinator and Intern Education Coordinator.

After his time at UAB, he and his family transitioned to the bay area following his wife after she obtained a position at Stanford and he worked for a short time at Santa Clara University assisting with sports science and men’s basketball.

He and his wife have a young son, Cade and will be expecting their second child in early September 2022.

Cederberg is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS). He also holds the Level 1 Sports Performance Coach certification through USA Weightlifting, is FMS certified through Functional Movement Systems, and is an EXOS performance specialist.
