John Ursone starts his third year with Stanford Sports Medicine as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, providing primary oversight to the baseball and squash teams. Prior to joining The Farm on October 2017, John spent six years at Santa Clara University, the last three as an Associate Athletic Trainer. During his tenure, he worked primarily with the Santa Clara baseball and women’s golf teams, as well as assuming a wide variety of administrative responsibility within the department. John also worked intimately with the San Jose State University Athletic Training Education Program as the lead preceptor for all athletic training clinical students at Santa Clara.

Prior to Santa Clara, John spent two years at Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro, TN as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working with their baseball team and earned his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. A Connecticut native, John completed his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He currently lives in San Jose with his wife, Amanda, and dog, Summit.
