Former Stanford student-athlete Karissa Cook returned to The Farm as an assistant for the beach volleyball team in September, 2015.

Cook currently competes professionally on the AVP tour, tallying three top-10 finishes in the 2017 season. She qualified to represent the United States in two NORCECA beach volleyball events in 2017, securing a 3rd place finish in Ochos Rios, Jamaica and a 4th place finish in Varadero, Cuba with her partner Katie Spieler. 

As a member of the Stanford Women’s Volleyball team, Cook was an All-Pac-12 Conference honorable mention as a junior in 2011. She was also named Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention three times in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons on The Farm. Cook ranks seventh all-time in assists with 3,027 and led the Cardinal in assists in the 2009 and 2011 seasons.

After graduating in 2013 with an engineering degree from the Stanford Product Design program, Cook joined the University of Hawai'i Beach Volleyball team. She was named an AVCA All American in the 2014 season, taking second place in the national pairs championship and third in the national team championship. Cook graduated from the University of Hawai'i in December of 2014 with a master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
