Maegan Neihart enters her third season with the Cardinal in 2024-25, her second as an assistant coach with the women's rowing program after spending a year as an assistant coach with the lightweight rowing program during the 2021-22 season.
Stanford continued its reign as one of the nation’s best rowing teams throughout the 2024 season, winning its third straight Pac-12 Championship and registering its fourth consecutive top-two finish at the National Championships. The 2024 NCAA Runner-Ups earned three podium finishes at the national championship regatta for the first time since the 2021 season and just the second time in program history, highlighted by a national championship title in the second varsity eight.
Neihart returned to The Farm after a year with the University of Michigan women's rowing program, helping the Wolverines to a 2023 Big Ten Championship as a graduate assistant.
A three-time All-Big 12 rower at Oklahoma, Neihart was named the Big 12 Rower of the Year in 2016. Originally a walk-on at Oklahoma, she was the Freshman of the Year in 2014 and rowed in the Varsity 4+ in the Sooners’ second-ever appearance at the NCAA Championship. Neihart was also a four-year all-academic honoree during her tenure in Norman, and a second-team CRCA all-region selection in 2017.
Neihart has coached and trained in Saratoga Springs, New York since 2019, coaching with the Saratoga Rowing Association while also training and racing with ARION. Her stint in the Bay Area will not be her first, as she spent time as a CrossFit coach in Redwood City at NCFit from 2017-19. She also worked as a youth gymnastics coach at Mat Trotters Gymnastics and Airborne Gymnastics from 2012-18.
Neihart graduated from Oklahoma in 2019 with a degree in multidisciplinary studies and pre-physical therapy.
