John Janovsky is in his third season as the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations at Stanford. He is responsible for the direction and operational oversight of all men’s basketball activities.
 
Among his numerous responsibilities, Janovsky oversees the coordination of team travel, scheduling of program activities, and assists with scheduling of nonconference games. He serves as the program’s liaison with the department’s facilities, event management, operations and external relations teams. 

In Janovsky's second year on The Farm, the Cardinal posted one if its best seasons in the last decade in 2017-18. Stanford returned to the postseason for the first time in three years, advancing to the second round of the NIT and winning 19 games overall. The Cardinal won 11 Pac-12 games and finished third in the conference standings last season, its most wins and best finish in 10 years. 

Janovsky has been a part of Jerod Haase’s staff for four seasons, serving as Haase’s Director of Scouting and Basketball Analytics during his final year at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) during the 2015-16 season.
 
Boasting more than a decade of experience in the college basketball community, Janovsky served as the Director of Basketball Operations at Marshall from 2013-15 and worked with Jeff Wulbrun on Seth Greenberg’s staff at Virginia Tech as a Video Coordinator for the Hokies for one season.
 
Janovsky has also held operations roles at Duquesne and for the Huntsville Flight of the NBA Developmental League.
 
He owns four years of coaching experience, serving as an assistant coach for three seasons on the staff at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and one season at St. Lawrence University.
 
A 2004 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in business administration, Janovsky also owns a master’s degree in adult and technical education from Marshall.
 
A Fayetteville, New York native, Janovsky and his wife Lynn are the proud parents of daughter Mia, born in December of 2017.
