Michael Robinson is in his first season at Stanford as associate sports performance coach.

Robinson oversees all performance needs for the men’s basketball program, including responsibilities in strength and conditioning, rehabilitation, nutrition, supplementation, recovery, and travel. He is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and holds certifications in applied functional science and first aid/CPR.

He arrived on campus after seven seasons as assistant director of strength and conditioning at California Baptist from 2017-24, including time with the men’s and women’s basketball programs from 2021-24. He also directed programs for the Lancers’ women’s volleyball, swimming and diving, water polo and wrestling teams.

Robinson also spent two years as the head strength and conditioning coach with USA Water Polo, working with the U.S. Olympic men’s team from 2023-24, and he was the head assistant men’s basketball coach from 2016-17 at Citrus College.

A 2016 graduate of California Baptist, Robinson was a two-year letterwinner for the men’s basketball program, where he helped lead the Lancers to back-to-back NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and the program’s winningest season, including the PacWest Tournament Championship. He was previously a three-year member of the men’s basketball team at UC San Diego from 2011-14.
