Prior to Stanford

  • At New Trier High was the top scorer on the junior varsity hockey team in his only season
  • Captained the rowing team as a senior and broke school 2,000-meter record
  • Won the 2016 SRAA national championship in the 8+
  • Second in the 2017 and 2018 SRAA national championships in the 8+

Personal

  • Parents are Christopher and Kimberly Chatain
  • Father was a collegiate All-America sailor and placed third in the Flying Dutchman class at the 1968 U.S. Olympic Trials
  • Christopher Chatain was a two-time Flying Dutchman national champion, and the 1993 Chicago-Mackinac Race
  • Has three brothers, John, Ted, and Charles
