Vijay Dias was named volunteer assistant coach ahead of the 2017 season. Dias joined the Cardinal coaching staff after serving as an assistant coach for Montana during the 2016 season. He comes to Stanford with a wealth of experience, having competed professionally in the United States, India and Spain.

The Montana native played collegiately for Indiana from 2000-03, helping the Hoosiers win a national championship in 2003. As a sophomore in 2001, Dias helped Indiana reach the national championship match after reaching the national semifinals as a freshman in 2000. Dias graduated in 2004 with a degree in general studies.

Dias joined the Montana coaching staff for the 2011-12 seasons as a volunteer assistant before playing professionally in India during 2013. In 2014, he returned to coaching at Carroll College, and later Northern Arizona in 2015 before returning to play one more season in Spain.
