Brian Hurler joined the women's volleyball staff in January 2021 as the team's technical coordinator. He enters his second season with the Cardinal in 2021.

Prior to his time on The Farm, he spent two seasons at Creighton as the Graduate Manager-Technical Coordinator, where he provided analytical and scouting support while assisting with day-to-day operations of the program. Creighton went 25-6 and won the league in Hurler’s first season on the sideline as he was part of the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.

In 2020, Hurler worked as a technical coordinator at the U.S. Women’s National Team Open Tryouts and was later selected to the staff of the 2020 and 2021 U.S. Collegiate National Team. He has also supported USA Volleyball during the 2019 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup and the 2019 and 2021 Volleyball Nations League.

Prior to Creighton, Hurler was an assistant coach from 2016-18 at Montclair State. With Hurler on staff, the Red Hawks won 60 matches, an NJAC Championship, and made an NCAA DIII Tournament appearance.

In 2018, Hurler was an assistant coach for the GEVA Region’s High Performance team, which captured an international silver medal at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships. In 2017 he was a court coach with the GEVA High Performance team that won the region’s first gold medal. Prior to that, Hurler coached with Ocean County Volleyball Club in New Jersey for four seasons.

Hurler graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2015 with his degree in Finance and is pursuing a master’s degree in Analytics at Creighton’s Heider College of Business.
