STANFORD, Calif. - In the third of a nine-part series, Cardinal fans can get to know freestyle and backstroke specialist Anya Goeders from Lowell, Indiana.

What are you most looking forward to about Stanford?
I am looking forward to meeting new people from all walks of life who have similar passions and interests as me. I am also very excited to train with my awesome swim team.

My favorite memory so far is traveling to Hawaii for a training trip with my team. I think the trip brought the team a lot closer and it was a lot of fun to bond with my teammates outside of the pool.

The best part about being a swimmer is to be able to form strong and lifelong relationships with your teammates and coaches.

Biggest passion outside of swimming?
I love cooking, gardening, and stargazing.

Favorite Netflix series right now?
The Office, Queer Eye, and Stranger Things.

Name three things on your bucket list.
See the northern lights.

What are your career aspirations after Stanford/swimming?
I am looking forward on pursuing my aspirations in aerospace engineering and/or environmental science.
