EUGENE, Ore. - No. 4 Stanford blanked Oregon 7-0 in its Pac-12 opener on Sunday afternoon, registering its fifth shutout of the season.

Three-time defending Pac-12 champion Stanford has now won 28 consecutive regular-season conference matches, with its last loss coming in the form of a 4-3 defeat at Arizona State back on March 5, 2016.

The Cardinal (8-1) seized a 1-0 lead after securing a competitive doubles point.

Following quick victories from Emma Higuchi (6-2, 6-2) and Caroline Lampl (6-2, 6-1), it was Niluka Madurawe providing her first career clincher with a 7-5, 6-3 victory at the No. 6 spot.

Playing without the services of Michaela Gordon at the top spot of the lineup, the Cardinal singles lineup looked slightly different with everyone bumped up the ladder.

Stanford returns to The Farm for four straight home matches, beginning Friday, March 15 against Arizona State. The Cardinal has won 53 of its last 56 contests at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
