IRVINE, Calif. – No. 1 Stanford remained unbeaten with a pair of convincing victories on Saturday, routing No. 10 UC San Diego 17-3 before knocking off No. 3 UCLA 14-4 in the nightcap at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational.
Stanford (10-0, 0-0 MPSF), a six-time champion of the Barbara Kalbus Invitational and winner of two of the last three tournaments overall, will face No. 2 USC in Sunday’s final at 1 p.m. The Cardinal placed third in 2024.
The Cardinal’s dominant start now includes a statement win over defending NCAA champion UCLA, which swept all three meetings between the rivals in 2024. The 14-4 win was Stanford’s largest margin of victory against UCLA in school history.
Through 10 games, Stanford’s formula has been simple: relentless offense and timely defense. The Cardinal has scored at least 12 goals while allowing eight goals or fewer in every game this season.

Stanford opened the day with its second win over UC San Diego, having already beaten the Tritons 15-4 back on Jan. 18 in the season opener for both teams.
Maggie Hawkins produced a hat trick while Kamryn Barone, Ryann Neushul and Jewel Roemer contributed multi-goal performances.
The Cardinal received goals from 12 different players, representing the seventh time this season at least 10 players have found the net.
Stanford scored 17 goals on 27 shot attempts, good for a 63.0 percent rate, while converting 7-of-11 chances on the power play.
Defensively, Stanford held UC San Diego scoreless until the 4:51 mark of the fourth period while allowing only three goals on 26 shots.
Christine Carpenter made six saves through the first half in goal, Jackie King followed with four stops over the next 13:13 before Izzy Scott made her collegiate debut during the final 2:47.

Jenna Flynn scored a game-best four goals on seven attempts, leading Stanford to an emphatic 14-4 rout of UCLA in the semifinals.
The highly anticipated matchup was dominated by the Cardinal, which produced its second-best output against the Bruins in school history, trailing only an 18-13 win on March 11, 2023.
Maggie Hawkins added a hat trick on four shots while Juliette Dhalluin and Jewel Roemer both dished out three assists.
Ryann Neushul scored her 190th career goal, passing Margie Dingeldein to move into eighth place on the Cardinal’s all-time scoring list.
Seven different players scored for the Cardinal, which converted four penalty shots.
UCLA was limited to four goals on 27 shots, as Stanford built a 9-2 halftime advantage and cruised the rest of the way.
