STANFORD, Calif. – Jenna Flynn’s hat trick paced another balanced scoring attack as No. 1 Stanford remained unbeaten after a 17-11 win over UC Davis in its home opener on Sunday afternoon.
Stanford (12-0, 0-0 MPSF) picked up its second win of the season against UC Davis (9-11), having also beaten the Aggies 18-8 back on Jan. 25 in Berkeley.
Flynn was one of 11 players to score a goal for the Cardinal, which also received multi-goal performances from Kamryn Barone, Serena Browne, Ryann Neushul and Sophia Sanders.
Stanford, which has scored at least 10 goals in every game this season, led 6-2 after the first period as Flynn delivered two of her three goals. The Cardinal then tacked on five goals apiece in the second and third quarters.
The Cardinal converted 5-of-9 chances on the power play and all four of its penalty shots.
Flynn completed her hat trick at the 2:15 mark of the second period, helping Stanford reach double digits.
Christine Carpenter made five saves and played the first two quarters before Jackie King contributed two stops over the final 16 minutes.
Stanford visits Arizona State on Saturday, March 8, at 1 p.m. to open conference play.
