Opening Draw

No. 2 Stanford heads into Thursday’s contest having earned its second-ever 10-0 start following a 14-8 win over Arizona State last Saturday to wrap up a season-long three-game homestand. In what was a back-and-forth-affair through the first quarter, the Cardinal rattled off a six-goal run in the second quarter to retake the lead that it never surrendered, highlighted by Ava Arceri’s shorthanded tally with one second left in the half to put the Cardinal ahead 8-3. Stanford outscored the Sun Devils 6-5 in the second half while Ella Morton - who made her first collegiate start - snagged 10 of her 14 total saves in the second half to give the Cardinal the eventual 14-8 win.

Offensively, Stanford had nine players record a goal while Elise Murphy, Jordyn Case and Martha Oakey joined Arceri for the team-lead with three points during the contest. Saturday’s game marked the fifth time in the last six games Stanford has had eight or more goal-scorers and seventh time this season. Jordyn Case was dominant on the draw circle earning a career-high eight draw controls on the day to negate the one of the nation’s best draw takers. Defensively, Stanford snagged its eight game of limiting the opposition to under 10 goals while Morton’s 14 saves is the most ever by a Stanford goalkeeper in their first collegiate start. The Cardinal defense also racked up 14 caused turnovers with Kate Bellissimo leading the team with four.

Aliya Polisky leads the Cardinal in scoring through 10 games this season after notching an assist in limited action against Arizona State last week. Polisky currently holds a 27-16-43 line this season and has scored in all but one game in 2026. Mallory Hasselbeck is second on the team in scoring having snagged a goal and an assist in the win over ASU. Hasselbeck has recorded six games with four or more points this season including in three of the last five outings. Stanford currently has 14 players who have tallied a goal this season while eight players have recorded 10 or more goals this campaign.

Stanford ranks fifth in the conference in assists per game, averaging 7.60 through 10 games with Hasselbeck posting a team-best 21 helpers this season. Polisky’s 16 on the season follows in second while 13 players have recorded an assist in 2026.

On the circle, Jordyn Case leads the team in draw controls with 40 after a career-outing against ASU where she snagged eight against one of the nation’s best draw control units. Case previously tied her career-best with seven in the win over Virginia earlier this season. Annabel Frist is second on the team with 36 draw controls after tallying nine in the win over Notre Dame two weeks ago. Frist has totalled 354 draw controls during her career and sits 21 draw controls back of tying Genesis Lucero (2016-21) for the program record in draw controls. Rylee Bouvier and Amanda Lawson slot third and fourth, respectively, as the other Cardinal to have recorded 10 or more draw controls this season.

Defensively, Rylee Bouvier and Kate Bellissimo lead the Cardinal having both earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors in the campaign. Bouvier and Bellissimo sit atop the leaderboard with 21 caused turnovers while Bellissimo owns the record for caused turnovers in a game with eight, breaking a 26-year record in the win over Duke. Bellissimo also owns the team lead in ground balls with 31 on the season while Kaleigh Sommers follows her in second with 20.

In cage, Lucy Pearson owns a perfect 9-0 record having last appeared against Notre Dame. Pearson, who made a season-high 10 saves in the win over Duke, owns a 7.00 goals-against average which leads the conference (min. 100 minutes played) coupled with a .427 save percentage. Pearson ranks second all-time in goals-against average (8.95) and slots fifth all-time in goalkeeping games played with her 50th appearance against the Irish. Pearson and the Cardinal defense owns the seventh-best scoring defense in the nation, holding the opposition to an average of 7.50 goals-against. Ella Morton has also earned time in cage after her first collegiate start - and win - in the game against ASU. Morton made 14 saves on 25 shots faced, earning the most saves by a Stanford goalkeeper in their first collegiate start in program history.
