REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – Competing at home for the first time this spring, No. 7 Stanford lightweight rowing topped No. 2 Princeton in the Varsity 2x, but fell in the 8+ and 4+ to give the Tigers the Class of 2015 Cup.
On a gusty morning, dealing with occasional rain showers, Stanford’s 2x pair of Maddy Dodge in the stroke and Zadie Diniz in the bow rowed to a four-second victory over Princeton’s pair, crossing the line with a time of 8:20.54.
The Cardinal’s varsity eight finished with a time of 7:04.4 while the varsity four ended in 8:09.31 – improvements for both boats from its season-opening duel in Tennessee.
Stanford returns to the water on Saturday, April 18 at the Big Ten Invite, hosted in Gold River, California.
