Stanford returns home after a two-week road stretch with a 34-7 win

Stanford running back Micah Ford broke off for a 81-yard touchdown run in the final quarter to score his fourth touchdown of the game and cement Stanford's 34-7 rout over Elon.

The first quarter went scoreless after Stanford and Elon both missed field goals, but Ford got the Cardinal on the board at the start of the second with a 1-yard plunge. Ford scored Stanford's second touchdown two drives later, breaking several tackles on a seven-yard run.

“I challenged our team at halftime," Stanford coach Tavita Pritchard said. "I don't think we played with the energy and focus that we needed to in the first half, and I think we did a better job in the second half.”

Dominant Performance at the Stanford Intercollegiate

Stanford women’s golf capped off another successful performance at the Stanford Intercollegiate, with a team win and an individual medalist, winning its home tournament for the third consecutive season.

There were three Stanford standouts who entered with a chance to win, but it was Meja Örtengren who stole the show. She was on the low side again, posting a 67 (-4) in the final round to secure her third collegiate win. Örtengren put the pressure on her teammates early by recording birdies on the first two holes, pulling ahead of Andrea Revuelta by two strokes. After Revuelta pulled ahead a few strokes later, Örtengren ripped off three straight birdies on holes 6-8 to get the lead back and never looked back.

Örtengren shot a 199 (-14), the second-lowest 54-hole score by a woman on Stanford’s course. Revuelta gave Örtengren a strong run for her money, ultimately finishing with a 202 (-11).

Cardinal win 2-0 over the Aggies

Stanford field hockey completed the 2026 nonconference slate in successful fashion, dispatching UC Davis on Friday afternoon, 2-0. With the win, Stanford ends the nonconference portion of its 2026 schedule with an 8-1 record including a double over its in-state foes while Anya Jackson recorded her second collegiate shutout.

"I think UC Davis is a really difficult team to play against with their numbers defensively," said Susan Ewing York Director of Women's Field Hockey Roz Ellis. "I am really happy with how our team prioritized possession in the second half to be able to stretch Davis and find openings into the scoring circle."

The Cardinal held the nation's most prolific offense to just three shots in Friday's 0-0 draw

No. 25 Stanford kept the nation's most prolific offense off the scoreboard on Friday evening, battling No. 1 SMU to a scoreless draw.

The Cardinal backline stymied an SMU attack that entered the contest with an NCAA-best 3.09 goals per game and a conference-leading 18.27 shots per game, limiting the Mustangs to just three shots on the evening.

“Extremely proud of the performance tonight,” said Knowles Family Director of Men’s Soccer Jeremy Gunn. “Conditions reduced the game to a handful of moments but we managed to carve out a couple of good chances and we reduced a very good attacking team to very few looks on goal.”
